My 70 Chevelle has no heat. Both lines into the heater core are hot when the engine gets up to temperature. No leaks into the passenger compartment. Not sure what to look for. Vacuum lines all work, I can see the diverter door opening and closing. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Do you have a water temp gauge? If so what does that read? could it be possible that you arent running a thermostat? the engine might not be comming up to running temp.

To be honest I just put my interior heater box back in and the little door that is cable activated from your dashboard was way off, Is there a possibility that it could be binding and not pushing over, allowing the warm air into the car instead of trapping it in the box?

The diverter door that diverts the air between the lower heat outlets and the defrost outlet works, I can see it moving. Are you refering to the door inside the ac/heater box?
I remember there being one in there, but I can't recall it's function. Thanks for the replies.

Atleast on my elco, there is one on the inside box and another one that diverts it even more on the part that butts up to the firewall, where the air first comes in, Mine was binding when I took it off so i didnt have full travel of the door, which wouldnt give you heat I would imagine

Thanks for the input, I'll look at the cable controlling the interior door, it probably isn't opening. Hopefully it will get above 20 degrees this weekend so I can work on it.
