Is there any particular way to clean an expansion valve so it can be reused? I have a nice one that I want to use on the Charger (same as a Chevy one) but I'd like to flush it out with something first.

If it's a bulb-type valve, you can put the bulb in warm water to open the pintle, then flush it with brake cleaner or WD-40.

I wouldnt use WD-40. Your not supposed to get any sort of oils that are not compatible with air conditioning systems inside any AC component.

You should probably use Duraflush, for A/C systems, you might not be able to purchase it without the license. Good luck. I have the license, let me know.

C'mon guys, we're talking about an expansion valve here, not a condenser or evaporator.
Yep, Duraflush would probably be the best thing, but, with the valve off of the evaporator, opening it up and squirting some brake cleaner or WD 40 through and then blowing it out isn't going to leave enough residue to harm anything.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I like to use something that was designed for this purpose. Maybe it's just me?
