Can anyone tell me how to or a link I can go to show how to replace the CV joint on a 2000 GMC Jimmy passenger side?

Eddie,
It would be best to get a service manual. Typically, now days it is just as cheap, and a lot easier to just buy a complete remanufactured axle.

There is a lot of play around the hub. Both boots look good.No play in the shafts. Do they have an outer bearing like non front wheel drive cars?

Getting any noise when driving? the bearing is part of the hub asm.and the hub bolts on to the spindle . if the bearing is bad you will have a noise when driving and play in the tire,in and out with the wheel off the ground-like a bad ball joint.any noise or play?

if its anything like my s10 blazer i used to own, the bearing is a sealed unit in the hub
itself. If the cv's are bad, I too would say just get a new axle assy. instead of messing with changing the joints. If there is play in the wheel its most likely the bearing or
a ball joint. I had to change all the ball joints twice in the 10 years i had the s10
(bigger tires didn't help there)

It makes a grinding noise when you drive down the road. It gets louder when you turn the wheel to the right. I took the nut off the axel. Do you use a puller to pull the hub assembly off. Man do I love working on my 67ss compared to this thing.

To remove the hub asm. the caliper and rotor come off, remove axle nut and abs brake wire, there should be three bolt holding the hub asm to spindle.once removed a tap of a hammer and the hubs on the ground.bad front bearings on 4wd gm trucks very common!!!

And expensive from the dealer!

I changed 2 hubs this week, as well as 1 set of lower ball joints on a 2000 Blazer, and a full set (4) balljoints on a 1998 Blazer.

And turbo is right. Bigger tires kick the hell out of the balljoints.
