When i start the engine of my 66' it floods alott, im thinking the new holley racing carb will fix it when i install it but it floods alott, so i pump the gas and try again, then when i turn the key the engine makes a very loud winding like sound to it,id appreciate and suggestions on this matter, thank's.

Daren, If it's flooding don't keep pumping it, you just flood it more with the accelerator pump. Your carb must have a sticking float or your float height needs adjustment. For a grinding starter you can try shimming it with a starter shim or two.
