I just finished up a first design on my own crossmember. It will fit in the stock mounting holes on my 64 chevelle and use the stock T56 tranny mount from the camaro. I have to get a few more dimensions with my floorpans in to make sure everything will clear. I'm thinking about building an extra one or two if my first build comes out alright. Question is, is the 64 frame mounting holes the same as any other years? How many years are the same and whats the differences? If this turns out alright, I would be willing to sell an extra one or two just for the cost of materials to see what other people think. I've seen them for around $250-$300 and only a few different kinds. I'm just trying to find out if there would be any interest in a cheaper T56 tranny crossmember?

I think 64 and 65 are all it will fit. I think they were smaller compared to 66 and up.

you can use a stock chevelle crossmember, you just cut the trans mount tab off and weld it back on lower on the tube. Worked fine for me , hold the trans with a jack with the drivetrain 3 degrees down and weld the tab back on the crossmember tube.

I think I've seen pictures of one. I thought about about doing that. But whats the fun if its easy!? If this one I'm trying to build doesnt turn out like I want it, I'll probably end up cutting my stock one.
