: Odd Color Combo?

A buddy of mine happened to come acress a shell of a '69 Chevelle sitting in a wrecking yard up nort of me. I took a ride up to see it. It was a shell to say the least. The trim tag was odd. The paint code was 61 63. I was wondering why there were to paint codes together? Was it for a painted roof? The shell is like a forest green color.

Two paint color codes indicate upper and lower body colors. For the codes you gave the original colors of the car are:

61 Dark Brown Metallic
63 Champagne Metallic

Sounds like an unusual color combination. Could you provide some pictures of the car?

Ryan, The lower color is the Brown and the upper is painted Champagne. If you are able to get a pic of the trim tag or the info I'd like to add it to my list. VIN would be great also if available. I can be reached at andrew710@aol.com. take it easy Andy

Hi Andy! i'm not sure when I can get back. It's about two and a half hours away, but these wasn't a vin tag and most of the trim tag was not readable. I could only make out the 135XXX vin and the color. I couldn't read the interior color.

There was a 69 Beaumont on Ebay about 3 years ago with the oddest color combo I've seen. It was an original paint survivor car. Colors were Butternut Yellow, white painted top and red interior.

I think who ever ordered that car back in '69 was partaking of some mind altering drugs! :clonk: :D
