I was thinking about dropping the new 427 in my Impala, and I just need some information on it, I called my local Performance Parts dealer, and they said they could only tell me HP and Torque Ratings, I would like to know something about drivabilty, do any of you have any info on that?

This one? http://www.sdpc2000.com/product/19166393/430HP427ZZ427GMPerformancePartsCrateEngineAssembly .aspx

Other than the price I don't think you would have any problems. It was built to be a driver.

I think VORTEC PRO or WOLFPLACE OR CSTRAUB OR GOSFAST can build you a lot more engine for that kind of money
Why does it cost nearly $3000 more than a 454....
FRIGGIN ROBBERS! And after all the reports of oil use and shoddy assembly in some of the 454HOs, would you want a GMPP engine?
Buy a crate engine that may need fixing?
I am sure it is a nice engine, but seems to me that the engine should be the same price as the ZZ454 (454HO with Aluminum heads) and not a $3000 mark-up for "427"

Heck, you could probably get a hell of a 502/540 with a Dart Block from one of the guys named above for the price of the GMPP 427

That price is absolutely insanely high for that set up.

That is just waaaaaay too much money for that motor!

You could build a couple of 454's for that money, make alot more power and probably have some cash left over.

The other big downside to it is the hyd roller will crap out long before the 3.76" crank come into it's own.

agreed, for the same money you'd have a triple-nickel BBC making 700hp..
