After running my Chevelle for any length of time and then shut it down and let it sit for ~5-10 minutes it is hard to restart.If I try to restart immediately no problem. But if I wait I have to pump gas pedal. Could gas be draining out of carb. into engine causing this? Engine is 283 w/ 2 barrel Rochester.Thanks for your help.

It could be a hot soak problem that's boiling the fuel out of the float bowl, or an improperly adjusted choke or defective choke heater, or a leak in the float bowl. Q-jets are bad about leaking through the bottom plugs. I'm not sure if the 2 bbl shares this same problem.
