I've recently purchased a 71 and the body is in great shape. The interior is shot and the front seats are from a buick regal so I find myself looking for some ideas as to what I should do. 1) Can they be purchased at a reasonable price 2) what else will look good and have the same ride height?

Seats from a 68-72 GM "A" bodies will bolt in. You didn't say weather you have buckets or a bench but any of those would bolt in and then you buy the correct seat covers for them. If converting to bucket seats you will need to buy a couple of brackets that weld to the floor on each side the the tranny hump.

Bucket seats are hard to come by in the salvage yards these days, but there are plenty of sets on ebay. Expect to pay anywhere from $250-$600 for a set depending on condition. The $250 range will definitely need some work.

If you are ok with a bench seat, you could probably find one of those in a salvage yard. as mentioned above, you should look for 68-72 GM A-body cars. If you find one in a salvage yard, I would not pay more than $100 for one. Surely if you post a Wanted Ad in the classifieds on this site, someone near you may have one that they would be willing to give you since so many people convert to buckets.

If you go the salvage route and you do the work, remember to grab all seat belts and other little items you may need!
