: no idle Musled2Chevys Oct 26th, 02, 10:30 PM dropped in a 305small block into my 70 chevelle for temp use untill i get my desired engine. the block has some mods do to it but it wont idle in park. if i flutter the gas it will run. if i keep my foot one the gas to make it idle, it will but then die like there was no spark but will refire. any suggestions will be well thanked. Scott thr062 Oct 27th, 02, 11:15 AM Sounds like something in the idle circuit. By pumping the pedal you are giving it fuel through the accelerator pump and not the idle circuit. What kind of carb? Musled2Chevys Oct 27th, 02, 9:05 PM its an edelbrook 600 cfm, but as i was working on it today and saw a stupid over see that i forgot to put the back plug in the intake behind the carb cause i saw the plug and socket laying in the air cleaner lid.... stupid me....
