Had my 1984 350 four bolt rebuilt (bottom end only)then I installed the new cam timing chain and gears checked the marks twice after rotating engine. however the mark on the crank gear was stamped a little off so I used the tooth closest to it. Now when I try to set the timing. The mark on the dampener is at 12 o'clock instead of 2 o'clock where it should be and the engine bogs hard when ya step on it. I have the correct balancer new distributor and even tried other timing lights and distributors to no avail. the original timing cover was at 2 o'clock and I have a solid back 8" balancer. Anybody got any ideas I'd like to hear from ya thanks Steve.
