I'm having problems with hard cold starts with a Holly 600. I have to pump and pump while the car is turning over. Then wait a few seconds and start it with no gas at all. Once it has run, it starts up with a bump of the starter. This only happens first thing in the morning. What could be the issue? I am keeping fuel in the filter, so I know it's not draining back... Any hints? Thanks, Jeff.

Sorry for the delay. On closer examination, the accellerator pump was bottomed out on the intake. Holly 600 on a performer RPM intake. I put in a 1/4" spacer and life is good. Timing was also about 22 degrees initial, and I'm sure that wasn't helping.

Glad you found it. Had to carve out a little recess in my own Performer for the arm BTW.
