Can anybody help me find 5 of these headlight harness retainers for my 66?
Ground Up and Ecklers have similar but not exact matches.
One is way to expensive. $3.95 ea. Other is more reasonable. Would applicate your help.

I've been searching too, with no success. The closest thing I found was Au-ve-co part # 19853. It looks very similar, but is 2.5 in. long. The alternative is part # 20514, but the post is different. I was able to salvage some from old harnesses. 40 years makes them fragile.

Mine too. I have two that still have the ears intact but I am afraid they will brake on instillation. Check Ground up # AHC1 & AHC2 or Ecklers #606754 & 606755

Jon,

Yes they will break on installation. Test them first by compressing them with your fingers. If they don't break then they'll work.

I think those parts (Ground Up and Ecklers) are about as close a match as you'll find. On my 65, they are used in hidden spots (core support, left fender, and rear seat brace), so the difference from stock won't be noticed. The only clip visible is the one on the left inner fender holding the alt. wire and, once wrapped and inserted, the difference isn't noticable. Strange that Ground Up is charging triple the price of Ecklers. I just bought 10 from Ecklers. The one with the offset post is used to hold the dash harness to the instrument casing.

Thanks for the help. Going to try my local Au-ve-co dealer with Mikes numbers. If not I will get the ones from Ecklers.

Jon,

The Ecklers parts are a closer match than the Au-ve-co parts.
