Iinstalled power brakes on my chevelle this spring. Since then i have noticed that when i put the brakes on, and release, the peadel dosnt come al the way to the top until you rev up the motor. Could this be low vacum? The only other thing on vac is the eltc choke. Other than that they work great.

Sounds like either a bad check valve, or you may be running a long duration cam.

The check valve's I've seen are about 1.5" dia X 1.5" or so long and are installed inline in the vacuum booster hose. I have low vac at idle, 6-8" and I stole a check valve off my old 80 Z28. It seemed to help some, by storing the vacuum in the booster when the engine is at higher rpms and making 20+" of vacuum. It seems to lower the pedal effort a little bit (hard to tell), although I didn't have any problems with the pedal returning like you do.... Good luck!
