World Junior Championships before a record crowd of over 20K in Ottawa for this preliminary round game. This tilt had everything - hard physical play, great scoring opportunities and terrific goaltending. USA jumped out to an early first period lead of 3-0, then Canada bounced back to take a 5-4 lead. Final was 7-4 after two empty net goals in the last minute. Unfortunately one of these teams had to lose. These 18-19 year-olds gave it their all and put on a tremendous show. Already being called a "game for the ages".

USA will now play in the quarter-finals, while Canada advances to the semi-finals. Tournament continues throughout the weekend.

I was shocked how soon the US jumped to a 3-0 lead. after it was 3-3 I started to watch B-J from Scottsdale.... even mor shocked at some off the prices there (both high and low).

Great game but the officiating was not so great. The hit from behind really should have been a game misconduct. If these two teams meet again it will be some game.
