I have a 67 Ragtop which until the other day worked great. Last week I put the top down with no problem but when I put it back up in the middle of it going up, the motor which used to have a high whine to it become a low growl. Mind you the motor I guess still works as it does take the top down about 30 per cent of the way and then it appears to shut off the electric current to it--I did fill the hydrolic fluid on the motor up thinking that may have been the problem-could this be the circut breaker located on the fire wall that has gone bad, or the switch for the top ?? I did check to make sure none of the piviot points on the frame were binding. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the motor is bad. That would explain the difference in the sound, and why it kicks the breaker.

I had all the same problems. Put in a different motor and all is good in the world again. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
