Working over the emissions controls on 81 Elky. Anyone know a tip for how to remove the check valves going to the manifolds and cat converter without damaging the A.I.R. pipes?

These have been on for a while and seem to be rusted pretty solid. One of them disintegrated in my hand.

GOOD LUCK! best thing to try is a lot of penetrating oil and heat.

I have yet to see them come apart in my climate unless they are really new.
