Hi Guys, During my 69 elco resteration I replaced my gas tank and cap. I ordered the cap vented. And now when ever I open the cap to put in gas I find a lot of pressure in the tank. I went back and checked the part # on the aftermarket cap I bought from NPT and it said it was vented but it doe's not say on the cap either vented or not. Is this normal or will I have a vapor lock problem? With the orginal old stuff I don't remember ever having any pressure when I opened the cap to put in gas. I wish I saved the old one but I did not.:( Oh well any wisdom out there to help my dum ass??????????????:beers:

When I restored my 70-SS 454 -M-22 one owner Camino, I had this problem. What I did to correct this was. Look at you cap then look under the ears that you tighten it with. What I did was drill a hole, Under the one ear so as not to be seen.
I used a very small, I call them " Vent Drills ". 015---.020 will do the job and with this small hole, loads of fuel will no run out.
Hey It worked for me.............
