Does anyone have a picture or pictures of the rear break shoes installed on a 12 bolt rear end. I bought a rear end with out the brakeshoes and I need a picture to put them together.
Thanks

This is from my 70 12 bolt rear drivers side. You will want to reverse the image for the passenger side. You can't see the adjuster on the bottom but the star wheel goes towards the rear of the car and the body of the spring goes towards the front.

John, the bottom spring just above the starwheel adjuster appears to be installed backwards in your photo's.The way its installed in the pic the spring will catch on the adjuster and bind it up and it will not turn.

I have only owned car a few months ,so who knows what the prev. owner did but i looked at other photos sent in and i think mine looks the same. They worked fine and i had no trouble adjusting them, but thank you for picking up on something that potentially could be wrong.

John, that spring is in backwards, the spring coil should rest on top of the barrel of the self adjuster not on top of the star wheel. When you get a chance you should flip the spring around. Happy New Year. Glenn

I redid my rear end last year and never got around to posting the project on my web site. I have now started and the first two pages are up. I will continue to work on it today and put more pages up. You can see the steps I went through at this link.
