Hi all

hoping someone has some notes on rear coil over install :-)

I'm installing a 12bolt with Alston coil overs in the rear of our 67' ElCo.
Wanted to know if any one had pictures or notes to share.

I was thinking some goals are to:
-push the coilovers out twards athe wheels as far as possible
-cut off all everything not used like the old spring purchs and bump stops
-find a new mounting location for the pan hard rod
-try to open some space to run 3" over the axle

Tad I did this on my 68 vert. I did alot of cut Chop & weld but I like how it worked out. Let me see if I can remember how to post pic here.

I've got more pics that I'll find and send to ya. Note that I dished- out the frame rail using a 4" threaded pipe coupling. I took a BFH an egg shaped it, then cut in half in to half Moon shapes one for each side. Cut that shape out of the frame rail fit it up and weld it to Both Inboard & Outboard of the frame rails. This gave me the clearance to angle the shocks outward on the axel.

I also cut the Tail Pipes at the horse-shoe over the rear to change the angles , to clear my tank and to shorten them going over the Rear End.

Hope this helps. Tony

here are a couple of my unfinished rear suspension. i used the alstons shock mounts and drew up my own brackets and had them water jetted. the rear still has to be narrowed and some new axles will be on the way shortly. i really didnt want to post these pics unfinished, but maybe it will give you some ideas. btw, not all welding is done and the bolts are not permanent.
