I have a 71 chevelle that I am redoing. The sheet metal work has been done (qtrs, deck filler etc.) I have been detailing the under carriage and cant fight the urge to pull the body off of the frame. I just want to do it quickly (too many friends have never completed their projects after that step). I am not doing a Rotisserie, becuase of space. I will probably do the reinforced 4x4 stand I have seen.
So I guess my question is more to do with the level of detailing. Once done I am going to get it painted. Am I waisting my time detailing if there will still be some over spray? Is there some way to prevent it? I will also be rebuilding the front end and four wheels disc brakes. Should I do it now or after painting? Finally the engine and trans - now or after painting?
What I planned on doing is detailing as much as possible - install the engine and hope for the best with the overspray. Any other suggections or experience? Thanks Dan
