my engine has been going slow after I used gm top engine cleaner and recurved the distributor. It doesnt ping any more and runs smoother but seems like it has lower power. and now it shifts at about 3000 rpm insted of 4000 like it used to. and it takes longer to get up to speed. on the freeway any help would be appriceated thanks.

What is the timing set at. Since you recurved, you may need to set initial a bit higher. Try 12-14 degs and see what that does. My driver, with a RV cam (204/214 @ .050") likes 16 degs. I also have the vacuum advanced limited to 10 degs.

IF the above mentioned timing increase does not help you out then then try a new set of plugs. There is a possibility that the top end clean solution has partially fouled your plugs which will hurt your top end perf.
Also, this is a streach but when you replaced the airclener on you car did you accidetially do something to limit your throttle from opening all the way or are the secondaries jammed up now? (assuming your running a carb and not EFI)

It would probably be best if you had your dist professionaly set up on a dist machine to the specs of your engine. Perhaps someone here can recommend one in your area or at least Florida.

progress has little to do with speed, but lots to do with direction.
