Well? It's out of a tuned port 305 that I picked up for free.

Those bearings are not spun. I really don't see anything wrong with them,at least on the back side. You still have the honing marks on the rod cap.

What does the other side of the bearing look like? How does the crank look? That looks just like an old bearing to me. You can still see clearly where the bearing numbers have transferred to the rod cap. I don't see any spinning.

When a bearing is spun it usually smoothes off the little "tab" on the bearing. In the last pic it looks like it's still there.

The other side is clean as a whistle.. (and so is the crank) I only posted pics of the backside because it had those black marks...

Tab was the give away. Looks like you might have a rebuildable core.

Thanks everyone for the replies.. Next question. Should I put a new set in while I have it apart? Or, if the inside of the bearings look clean along with the crank, should I just put it back together? I took all the mains off too they were VERY clean looking..

As already noted, you have a perfect "tattoo" of the rod housing bore transferred onto the outer bearing shell. Spun = shiny outer shells with grooves/etc and signs of heat.

I have built engines that were "thrown together" where I just put in new bearings but to do it the right way the crank needs polishing or turning before building. You can put it back together but the bearings need to be in the same place as they were taken from.

Any size # on the bearing ?
OEM would be like .0001 or .00001.
Aftermarket would be .010 or .020

I looked, However, Couldn't find any number on the bearing itself that denoted any "size"... I was wondering the same thing myself:D..
