If its the std 40k volt flamthrower your just fine, been running it on my 69 396 for many yrs.

That coil is bascially a stock rep coil with a little more umph, its got 40k volts vs stock gm coil at approx 32-35k volts, nice upgrade from stock but nothing wild.

I have installed the pertronics 40k volt coil on mult cars i worked on for people and its been a reliable stock looking/sized udgrade coil for my car and the people i installed it for on thisr cars too

But if its the 45k volt low resistance coil you have i beileve thats meant to only be used with the pertronics ign system so keep that in mind & chk it out if thats the coil you have.
