Well today we had to work.We were real slow since the rest of the country is off today so me and my co-worker were looking at her Face book account we went to the same school but were about three years apart and we were freaking out over all the people we knew on there but haven't seen in 20+ years. So i type in my class year and see a bunch of people who i went to school with. you can't look at their profile unless your a member. so i figure what the hell I'll sign up. So I do.Throw a page together real quick. Find out to view other peoples profiles you have to be on their 'friend' list. So whatever days over and we go home. So tonight i check my email and it says i have a friend request. i check it out and its a girl who i was lets say 'friendly' with in high school. Damn no less than three hours on that damn site and i'm in trouble! I haven't 'accepted' her as a friend yet. I don't know what to do.the curiosity is killing me. I should have never strayed from Team Chevelle.

if your single... its all good, if you are not... discuss it with your wife, unless it is something youd rather not. I let my wife know before I accepted a girl... granted I knew here in 1st grade, she was my first gf.... :)

I never played with Facebook. I simply don't have time to waste with it. I played around with the MySpace thing for a couple months then deleted it because I don't have time to waste with that either.

I use facebook. I was surprised at how many people I know. I've had friends request me that I had forgotten about. It's all good. There is no reason not to accept her as a friend, talk with your other half first if you think you need to. I don't ask my wife because she doesn't really care as long as we are just talking, however I know that all women are not created equal. If things start to go in a direction you aren't comfortable with then you can always end the contact with her.

99% of the internet is about wasting time isn't it? It just depends on what sites you choose to waste it on.;) Myspace is to confusing since most people don't use their real names its hard to find people you actually want to get in touch with.

Single-no prob.Married/committed-tell her you were on Facebook and started clicking on stuff to see what other people you graduated with were doing now. You were curious about an old girlfriend and were bored. It's not like you called her up. If she's the jealous type you need to delete the page, burn the computer, and change your e-mail several times, then call a "cleaner" to dispose of anyone who knew it existed.

I don't use Facebook or My Space. I have Googled old gf names and found where they are and what they are doing. I also found some old friends this way.

"Waste" your time on Team Chevelle, it is safer for your relationship, IMO.

However time is wasted, my wife things TC is a big waste of time... Its only a waste of time if you spend as much time as we do on TC. Use it to connect with others, check it from time to time... If you wanna get in touch with your past that is... for those that think Face Book is more child oriented than My Space obviously doesn't spend much time with teens. Most all of my students have a MS account and say that FB is for "old" people.

I've got a face book page. I've only got two friends I think. But those games they've got are perfect little time wasters I guess.

Just tooling around there a little while I can't believe how many old friends i have found. Believe me its not just kids on there. I was able to find my old neighbor on there. Also found an old friend from high school. Its easier to just shoot them a message and say hey whats up than it is to make an awkward phone call to someone you havent seen in twenty years. You can see what they have been up to and they can do the same. I was able to check out pictures of his kids and from his tour in Iraq.
I was great friends with the guys in my old neighborhood and we can all kinda hang out again, even play a game of poker together even if we're 1300 miles apart!

Depends on your relationship with your wife. If she doesn't trust you and is jealous type you have a problem. If not you are ok. My wife went to my 20th HS reunion with me. One old flame and a stalker I still do not remember spent quite a bit of time with us. Afterwards wife was cool about it and we had a good laugh over the stalker. This year I went to my 40th solo, wife said she didn't know anyone. Old flame was there and we talked but I ended up spending all my time with my old neighborhood kids and gearhead friends. To get ready for the reunion I joined classmates.com and only got a few inquires mostly from guys. Just make sure you set limits right off and don't give out to much personal info. Also remember that anything you put there will be there for a long time to be seen by future employers, etc.

I use facebook, started after my 20th reunion to keep in touch with old HS and college friends. I also use it to keep updated with photos and stuff on some family members who live out of state.

I like it, stay away from the kid b/s and its pretty good. Not looking to make new friends just keep in touch with old ones.

New friends???? I make here on TC:)

Sorry to bring this topic up again - Facebook is a pretty cool way to stay in contact with family and friends that live in other states. We share photos easily, I have played scrabble with my Cousin in St. Louis through Facebook. More and more adults are getting into Facebook - IMO - I would say Myspace is more for the younger people.

Privacy settings are also good - but remember - never post anything on the internet that you wouldn't put on the cover of the New York Times...

Pedophile oriented. Liar oriented. Talk smack from another state oriented. Set up and show off your gangs, guns, dope oriented, advertise that your now a hooker in vegas oriented..... :D

I dont use the internet for ANYTHING but TC and every site I visit is a link from here. Outside of that I have no use for the web at all. I go outside into the world. ;)

Well I started this topic so i guess i will update. I became 'friends' with that girl but never made any contact and she never contacted me so thats cool. Judging by her profile and pictures she's happily married and so am I. I have found a bunch of old friends from school and also in other states that I have lived so its a great way to keep in touch with everyone.

I know people in the Private Investigation business that use Facebook all the time. It is amazing how stupid some people can be by putting personal info and pictures in there. Just makes their job easier to track you down. They even told me people use this site to help steal other people's identity.

My experience is that people from your past who "friend" you on Facebook are just looking to make sure they are doing better than you after all the years. :D

Unless I did something I'm not aware of, Facebook won't allow anyone to see your profile unless you "friend" them first. Lots of idiots on MySpace will let anyone look at their profile, but, like I said, those people are idiots.

Well after reading everyones responses I guess I'll put mine up.I don't go to Face Book or even My space but have been using the Classmates.com site because My 20th reunion was coming up.I missed my 10th so I got to emailing different friends and keeping in touch. To make a long story short found out a innocent cruise in the SS 21 years ago has appearently produced a 20 year old young man.

Had to tell my wife not long ago, it was way before she and I met. So be very careful .

I have both Myspace and Facebook. I've found some old friends and my wife has also. I have Classmates also and that is a pay site, if you want to see and read all the profiles, etc.

I see no problems with it either of those.

But, this site is where I spend most of my internet time; post count is proof. :)
