: disconnecting trany from engin

i got the fly wheel cover of the tranny and wanna disconnect it from the engin i see the 3 bolts on the fly wheel but how i turn the wheel to get to them

If you can't bump it around on the starter use a big screwdriver and pry it around a tooth or two at a time. Slow, I know. Think I've seen a tool that grabs the teeth or maybe I dreamed it. Might help to have plugs out. You can turn 'em from the damper bolt on the front if you can get on it---and you can wring it off too.

A Vise Grips on the outer edge of the flex plate works just dandy.

use a ratchet and socket on the front crank bolt that holds the harmonic balancer. turn it a little a time.

thanks for the help guys i got it off using a screw driver method
