make sure to keep track of the shim placement. The new panel won't fit the same but having the old shims in the same place will give you a good starting point for alignment. Bolts everywhere probably 1-2 in door jam outer wheel lip, couple under bottom rear. may have to remove head light trim not sure on that year. Basically remove all the bolts and replace just be careful not to nick other painted parts when replacing and open door carefully when checking alignment could hit new quarter good luck:)

Open door 1bolt in there 2 bolts at bottom of fender I think 6bolts holding to inner fender 2 bolts at core support remove headlight trim 1 bolt under front brace 1 bolt under brace the filler that is on top of the bumper.Bumper does not need to be removed for this. It should take you about 45-1hour to take it off, very easy to do.

Sorry two more bolts one on top of the cowl and one behind the hood hinge,if using a goodmark or similar fender(not O.E) a little tweaking might be needed Click on me name and check out my public profile to see how they should line up when done as these are (O.E) fenders on my car.The hood is off the car right otherwise that must come off Mark the position using an 1/8 drill bit and drill into the hood hinge and the hood to realign the hood later.

thanks guys. i guess i'm just nervous about starting this project. the paint shop says they will do it for an addition $50 but, i'm trying to save on cost. is this a one man job or do i need a helper?

If the hood is not off you will need a helper to take that off if it is off it is a one man job.

For 50.00 I'd let the body shop do it.

For 50.00 dollars it's not worth all the hassel you would go through to get the fender to fit correctly. The price sounds like a steal to me, since most body shops charge $65.00 hour and up in our area.

Being i have worked in a body shop for 25 years I am willing to bet the $50 is just to take off your old fender and replace it with the new one.If it dont fit well or it needs major tweaking to get it to look right the price just went up,and all it is labor to make it look right and they will charge you for it besides dont you want the satisfaction of know you did some of the work on your own project. Our resto shop will work with our cust. if they want to work on there own projects as long as it does not cost us time to fix there mistakes, putting a new or used fender is a easy project and if done right the paint shop would appreciate you saving them time and labor,But if money is not an object let them do it.
