My radio(aftermarket) was working fine until I swapped out my stock distributor for a HEI. I have tried noise filters on the power line and they did nothing. The radio itself already had inline noise filters on the power and acc. lines. The radio works fine with the engine off.Has anyone else had this problem? I believe that there is a condensor in the HEI itself..has anyone ever had this go bad and cause this problem? If it is...where can I get that condensor? Thanks.

Could be the condenser. The HEI doesn't really need it to work. I believe thats it's for RFI. Iwoul think that you could get one from your local Nappa or A/C Delco supplier.
Hope this helps, Rob

What kind of "noise" is it? Alternator whine (up & down w/ RPM), or spark noise (tick, tick w/ RPM)?
