Would anyone happen to know the sweet spot balancing point for mounting a complete BB to an engine stand? Possibly a reference point from somewhere on the back of the block?
Looking for a few tips that you guys have found over the years.

just line up the pivot on the engine stand with the camshaft plug at the back of the motor.
this will put a fully assembled motor right at it's sweet spot for flipping it over.

Thank you. I knew it was close to the cam shaft center line but I couldn't remember. At one time I actually had a measurement wrote down but I can't seem to find it. Bought a new stand and it's been a really long time since I played with a motor on a stand so I thought I would ask for a few tips. I remembered that if you get it centered at the balance point that it was really easy to work with.

If you're going to have the heads on the engine, mount it as low as possible with the engine in the upright position. On most stands, it'll put it just about in line with the cam.
