What's your favorite Holiday cocktail recipe? :)
I stopped in our local liquor store today to pick up a few bottles...my wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law all like the fancy flavored Martini's...to serve Xmas day.
I'm always looking for new, interesting, mainly Vodka based, recipes and I got to thinking.
List your favorite Holiday drink...:beers:

ONE? C'mon....this drinking thing takes hard work and dedication. I've had more bad experiences than I can count but I havent given up and I have faith in you. You have to strive for drunken perfection, its like a good weld.....it just takes practice. Might be some blow through here and there, might get burned here and there....but once you find the right technique - perfection can be achieved.

Dont give up! :D :thumbsup::beers:

And how!

1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3 ratio and it has to be cream, not milk

To keep it easy, I use a 1/3 measuring cup and a pint glass

We always have a gathering on Christmas Eve and the drink I push on everybody is a Harvey Wallbanger. That night is the only time of year I drink liquor as beer is the norm.

Wow...now that brings back some memories Don!
Drank a few of those way back in the '70s.

This is one of the recipes the girls picked out:

Pumpkin Pie Martini

Mix 1 oz. Vanilla Vodka
½ oz. Licor 43
1 oz. Pumpkin liqueur
½ oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
splash Butterscotch Schnapps and ice.

Shake, then pour and sprinkle with ¼ tsp. pumpkin pie spice. For added effect, rim the glass with fresh lemon juice and crushed graham crackers.

OK, here is one that will make the women LOVE you !

You will need some vanilla vodka, Frangellico Hazelnut Liqueur, some lemons and sugar.

These are called chocolate cake.

You mix a shot of the vodka and the Frangellico in a 2 shot glass. Take a shot and then suck on a lemon slice that was coated with sugar ( like you would doing Tequila shots) have them swish it around in their mouth and BAMM ! It tastes like you just ate a piece of warm chocolate cake.

I know it sounds weird but it does work and they are really good ! Women love them - iffen you know what I mean !

The women here seem to enjoy blenders of frozen strawberry dacqueries (sp?) with a little green food coloring streaked in at the end. Kinda festive with the red and green colors.

I prefer Miller Lite, Miller Lite and Miller Lite - in that order! :)

Merry Christmas to all!

I don't drink much but when I do it's Crown and Coke or believe it or not Crown and root beer! As for a fruity drink that will get you and the wife wasted without knowing it is, two shots coconut rum, 1 shot banana liquor(creme de banane), 1 shot pina colada mix, and any orange, pineapple, tropical juice and crushed ice.
Cheers!!!!

I'm usually a Miller Lite guy. Around the holidays I have been know to do some Glenlivet on the rocks or Knob Creek. Here is a good holiday shooter for those interested:

Washington Apple
Ingredients:

· 1 oz Crown Royal (http://www.webtender.com/db/ingred/182)

· 1 oz Sour Apple Pucker (http://www.webtender.com/db/ingred/40)

· 1 splash Cranberry juice (http://www.webtender.com/db/ingred/372)

Mixing instructions:

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled shot glass!

Here is a great website for drink recipes. You can enter everything in your bar and it will compile a list of what you can make!!!:beers:

That reminds me of an interesting story I must share about some shine. We used to hunt in Durbin area of WV (Ramp country). A friend owned a vacation home and we got to know the locals quite well. Anyway we got the line on some shine made by an old woman up on Cheat Mountain. We were sitting in the local eatery in the town of Durbin eating our favorite breakfast of scrambled eggs and ramps when the owner came out with 4 dixie cups of the local shine that we had with our eggs. He then gave us the bottle of shine in a brown paper bag we had lined up. When we got outside we pulled the bottle out and it was in a 1/5th Smirnoff bottle with a label made of duct tape and it read "Peach Licker":D Apparently the old woman must have been drinking it when she wrote the label. BTW It didn't taste nothin like peaches???:noway:

Hey Bill ......going to try your Pumpkin martini ..but isnt that a Thanksgiving drink ?? :)

It could be Bill.
I got the recipe while in Spain T-giving week. One of the ingredients I had never previously heard of... Licor 43, a liqueur which I understand is produced in that region of Northern Spain (San Sabastian).
Also quite a few wineries in the Basque area producing an awesome local white wine...Txakoli (pronounced chac-o-lee). I'm not a big wine drinker for sure but If you ever get a chance ...try some. It's poured/served in an interesting way.

I do. And I have tried but its almost impossible to get drunk on that stuff let alone sick....unless you get sick from the taste from having to go through 6 bottles to get a buzz.

Kind of up there with beer bonging wine coolers. Just aint no point in the effort no matter how you try to get there, might as well try to get drunk off of Vanilla extract. :D

OR. . .

You can go to Wendy's and get a large chocolate frostie, take it home, scoop out about a third of it and add Bailey's Irish Cream, stir and enjoy.

It helps to put the Bailey's in the freezer before the frosties get there - then everything is slushie.

How dangerous can anything be that is in a Wendy's cup ? But beware ! These will sneak up on you because they are sooooooo good. The wemens love em too.;)
