Sorry I dont have much on it, we have several 350 blocks among a ton of other parts in the back of an old Chevy van. There was one in particular that was mostly complete that I wanted to use in a project a while ago. All I know about it is that it came out of a 70s camaro and is a 'high performance motor.' The intake and heads werent tightened down so I popped them off and it looked all stock to me. Now Im wondering if it mightve been a 383 or a 327 or something similar? How can I tell what it is?

get the numbers off the back driver side of the block, between the head and bellhousing flange, go to mortec.com and check out the numbers 3980010 3980014 is usually a 327/350 block.
383 is a bored and stroked 350..
is it a 1 or 2pc rear main seal? if it has 327 on the side of the block down near the oil pan in raised its a late model LT1 350, if it has 880 there, or the last 3 digits are 880 its from a 96+ chev truck. but more than likely its a 2pc rear seal thats either a 010 or 014 block.
also can get the numbers off the pass side front tab in front of the pass side head, numbers are stamped into it, if it hasnt been decked the suffix numbers should be there and will tell you what vehicles it was intended for and what year.

Thanks for the info guys, Ill see if I can get over later and get the numbers off the block. Im not sure how to tell the difference on 1 or 2 piece seals?
The only other thing I can remember about it was that I think the block was orange, heads were black sometime in their life, and the intake was red. Dont know if this helps at all but I thought Id throw it out there.

You get the numbers and we'll know if it's 1 or 2 pc seal.

He actually means "3970010" or "3970014" Both very good blocks. Either 2 or 4 bolt.
