: 69 windshield washer pump - no water

My windshield washer pump clicks (as it should), I took off the cover and took the valve assembly (in, out, out) off and I see the piston pumping up/down with each click. I put in a new valve assembly kit with new O-rings. All hoses are clear. However, no water. I've verified that there is NO vaccuum being generated from the 'in' port on the valve assembly. I assume this means that the O-ring behind the piston is bad or something, but I don't know how to get at it without dis-assembling the entire wiper moter. Is it possible to rebuild the piston/cylindar portion of the washer pump? Or can I/should I just get a new washer pump? Or an entire new wiper motor/washer pump kit?

Try priming it first. Attach a small funnel to the hose and hold it up so gravity sends the fluid toward the pump. Work the pump a few times and see if it starts to spray. This usually gets them working.

I agree with the priming. I used a vacum pump on the back side of the pump. I pulled a little vacum and then hit the button until I got water. I had the sme problem at first on my 69.
