Happy Holidays!

I have a small dilemma.
I drove up to Vancouver, BC Canada (from sacramento, california) I head back home tomorrow afternoon. The weather is having a break and they say no snow until Wednesday in Medford, Oregon. I know northern Washington is kind of a bear on the highway, I am in my 98' Civic. I have chains in case we get stuck, new front tires, they are all terrain, I am wondering if I should have something like this put on the front before I leave:

Would it make a big difference? Or any advice? I made it up with no problems, but I had beat the recent storm that cruised through here... maybe some of you Oregonians and Washington guys can chime in... Thanks in advance as usual!

Oh, I plan on making it to lower Oregon and staying the night tomorrow night, then the rest of the drive on Wednesday morning.... I hear a new storm rolls into Medford on Wednesday also, so I'm trying to plan a safe trip. Cool, later :)

No problem, I live just off of I-5, south of Bellingham. If You hit southern Oregon tommorrow night, You'll be good to go.

I don't think medford got much snow, its I-5 around portland you'll need to worry about. They were requiring chains there today. I think Salem also got another 3" last night.

Yeah that pass around the Oregon/ CA border is kind of a haul isn't it. Going to make it as far as possible today, leaving at 1 when my girlfriend gets off work. Thanks for the tips everyone!

Just talked to my Dad in Eugene, no snow there and roads are clear. You should be ok in the Civic, I pushed 8" of snow in my 85 Accord with all season tires, no chains or studs.

I-5 south at PDX is blocked and will take you a few hours to get through. No easy shortcut around it either. Roads are ugly there and are not improving.
