I bought a 68 chevelle ss a year ago and coming out of first gear it doesn't seem to engage as quickly as it should along with a lack in power. It had been tubbed at one time in the past so I was thinking the clutch plate is worn from popping the clutch racing it. There is quite a shake in the shifter and an occasional shake in the entire front end. The clutch is really stiff pushing it in which I think is the clutch spring but the bellcrank does look twisted a bit. Any ideas?

Describe how it comes out of 1st-is it as soon as you put power on it, or if you're accelerating or decelerating?
