I just picked up (finally) a set of buckets to put in my 65 for $100.00. Christmas has come early for me!:beers:

Now I just need to figure out how to recover them. I am thinking about new foam as well. Have any of you used the new foam before? What is your opinion of it? Who should I buy the seat covers from? Is any brand better than the rest?

I used NPD covers in my '72, they fit very well and look great. I opted to repair and re-use the original foam instead of buying new. The whole process is shown on my web page.

Careful, some of the replacement foams are to tall or stiff and you end up with your head in the headliner. This happened to me on a set of 71 buckets, not sure if the 65 foams have the same problems.

I have never heard anyone mention that foam problem. I will watch out for that issue. I might get lucky and not have to replace the foam. The seats are in pretty good shape except for the chrome on the sides. The chrome is poor at best. Definitely not usable the way it is. Does anyone know of a source for re-chroming these pieces?

I had thought about just having them powder coated, but I am not sure how good it would look.

I just did a set of 66 buckets last week, well I mean I helped a profesional upolsterer do them. It took both of us.We used ACI? rubber and pui covers. We put xtra springs in the seats and repaired all broken ones. The main problem we had was pulling in the creases if you know what I mean.To do that right you should really attach a metel rod the full length of each one so it pulls in evenly. We had the back covers on and off three times and I finally said forget it.They are nice but I have about 950 in this set.I hear someone,Ausleys?,is selling seats now.Wonder how much?
