Have a question. Would the 1 piece floor pans that have the braces for the 68-72 years fit the same year El Caminos? Some sites say yes and some say no. I have to replace from the smugglers box forward to the firewall. I figure this would be much easier in the long run replacing the entire assembly as 1 instead of patches for the entire sections.

kevin the floor pans for a el camino is the same as a chevelle. the smugglers area is where the back seat for the chevelle would be at. we used floor pans the ran from the firewall to the back wall in our 70 el camino and had a seam in the middle.

I think you will find that you need the '64-'67 style pan to fit the corners behind the seat. The '68-'72 pans are more squared off. I wasn't using the full pan as it wasn't available at the time. I was using the two halves and you guessed it, not the right ones. Kevin, send me an e-mail and I'll send you a picture of the corners that work.

Rick,
I read that thread, when it means short, is that the back height or the length to the back where the attachment point is to the bed?
Keith,
PM Sent. Is it a fitment issue at the rear? I will wait for your pictures to help me understand what you are saying.
