How do I check to see if I have a 'numbers matching' car?
What numbers do I compare? Where do I find them?
I know there is a number somewhere on the block - is it the vin?

Look on the pad on the front of the block, In front of the right (pass side) head.
It will look like this.

The second set of numbers will be the "Con-Vin". The Number after the letter will match the last part of your cars Vin if it's the original engine.

If its not an SS it will not make fkning difference
WOW - get a life.
The guy I'm getting the car from said the engine was rebuilt & it is a 2bbl.
After researching here I see that the 2bbl was a standard option. I didn't think it was the same engine, but now at least I know how to check.
Thanks Furball. Hope I can return the favor some time.
