Is it possible to use Newer OEM guages say from a corvette or GTO in an older car and if so what parts would you need to get from the donor car?
I am thinkning of installing the LS2 and T56 tranny from a GTO into my 68 Chevelle.
Thanks

Pretty sure that the gauges are 'driven' by the computer and not merely direct to the engine sensor. So, if you're using the OEM computer, you should be fine. On my C6 there is a BCM (body control module) and a ECM (engine control module) I would think the GTO is similar. You can get with a GTO forum and find out for sure which drives the gauges/dash/mirror/accessories..... There may a mix depending on gauge, I'm thinking oil pressure vs fuel level, etc. so you will need ALL sensors.

Thanks, i managed to dig up wiring diagrams to see what computer modules I will need. I am mainly concerned with the gauge cluster working rather than the door locks, windows, etc.
Thanks

That's why I mentioned the fuel gauge. On mine I'm pretty sure that the BODY control module monitors fuel level, gas cap position, traction control, active handling, etc. Though the fuel pressure is monitored by the Engine control module. And, who knows what else. Programs like HPTuners and others would be a good source for seeing the total picture for the engine. I don't have any idea where to actually see the TOTAL interaction of all computers on board.
