: Vibration under load

This is not my Chevelle, this is for my girlfriend's '95 Escort in very poor repair. The car shakes under load at 60mph+ but is smooth while coasting off the gas. As soon as I hit the gas the car starts vibrating violently, it still accelerates it just shakes a lot. what would cause a shake like this and only happen under load. It doesn't shake off the line even under full throttle and it doesn't shake when coasting. Maybe a fuel filter? I don't know. I can work on a 65 Chevelle with all the tricky stuff and I am stumped on an Escort, go figure.

I already changed the oil, plugs, wires and air filter. It needed it anyway.

Thanks

My friend had a Saab (i know, i know...) and it did the exact same thing. It was in fact bad CV joints. Yours probably need to be replaced too.

the inner ones
the outer ones sort of "clicks"

They are just really really wierd. The power window switches are backwards, the ignition key is in the center console, and here's the big one:
Engine mouned the long way, with the engine driven accessories at the BACK smashed up against the firewall, and front wheel drive!! Not to mention the backwards opening hood.......hehe!

Naa, I don't really have anything against them, in fact they are partially owned by GM now? Or perhaps entirely owned by them?

David, did you get a chance to look at those CV joints?

No I haven't Its my girlfriends car and I don't have a lot a time to check it out. I told what it might be and what it might cost. That POS car can't be worth more than $800 in my estimation, but she needs to fix it before it gets worse.
