Im having fuel problems with my 78 elcamino...The car sits for maybe a week or so, and then when i try to start it, it doesnt seem to pump fuel up to the carb, regardless of how much i pump the pedal. I have to have someone spray starting fluid into the carb while i try to start it to get it to run. After several shots of starting fluid it will run on gas. I changed the fuel pump already, but it still has the same problem. Its a 400 small block with a Rochester Quadrajet.

Do you have this problem only after the car sits for a while? If so then I would think that the main well plugs are leaking in the Qjet and that it takes the engine a while to refill the well.
