: auto to 4 speed hump location

Changing from console automatic to console 4 speed in a 68 SS need to know were to weld in the 4 speed hump, motor and trans are out of the car, need some kind of mesurement location.

This is a 69 chevelle 4speed, I don't think it had a console in it, but it might help. http://www.1969supersport.com/hump.html

I would wait until you have the trans in just to make sure its perfect. Going to be difficult to measure and get it right IMO.

A fellow TC'er emailed me these measurements I used on the 4 speed hump w/console for my 68. They worked perfectly for me...

I created a line between the seat belt bolt holes over the tunnel, and then measured from that line to the hump opening. This measurement is 24 1/8".
I also measured from the console brace to the opening which is 16". I measured from the outside edge of the door sill to the edge of the opening. On the drivers side it is 31 5/16", on the passenger side it is 31 7/8" so apparently the hump opening is biased towards the drivers side.
