I have a '65 300-series (not 300-Deluxe) and I need a hood. I really want to find the correct hood for this car, but I had a couple of questions. First; Is there a difference between a '64 hood and a '65 hood? Second, did a 300-series hood ever have the chrome spear down the middle, or is the correct hood for my 300 just a plain one with no chrome spear? Thanks!

The '64 and '65 hoods are different. The 300 and 300 Deluxe used a hood WITHOUT the chrome spear down the middle. If you were closer I could help you out, I have a few spare hoods of both kinds.

If absolutely necessary, you could weld up the holes on a Malibu/Malibu SS hood and it would be just the same. The 300/300 D hoods are probably harder to come by.
