I think I have the original spare tire for my car (1969 Chevelle) but I am not sure, according to a local restoration shop its original but I was wondering is there anyway to tell?

What kind and size of tire is it, what wheel is it, and what are the the the wheel codes and date codes on each side the valve stem?

I put pictures of our original 1969 Chevelle spare tire on Webshots. The rim is the YA code SS wheel. It is a Uniroyal F70X14 white lettered tire.

Had to put a little air in our spare this summer. I can't recall adding air before but probably have. I really wouldn't want to drive far on these old tires but they do look good for a picture shoot. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2625518210101686729kBgoYU

mine is a firestone, it's a white line, you can't read any of the markings on it
