unless you are going for strict originality, i see no reason at all to use rubber bushings. the poly bushings are so much better. you can even get ones with zirk fittings. most of them are available in black for the original look with modern performance...

I prefer the rubber...the suspension needs a little compliance to prevent binding.

I just rebuilt my son's '71 with all new suspension and steering. Got all the parts from rockauto.com. (Spicer professional steering and Moog bushings.)

Upgraded to sc&c uppers and added a rear (stock) sway bar. Tight as a drum and handles great.

Have you tried your local parts houses? Napa, Auto Zone, Shucks, Kragen, Checker etc. You can go to partsamerica.com and check it out.

Thanks for the replies.I checked rockauto they carry moog rubber replacements @$27.99/pr.Summit has the same thing @$38.99 for four.Summit always seems to be cheapest.I will check my local napa tommorrow .I hope i am making the right decision going w the rubber but even global west suspensions web site advises using rubber for anything other than race-only cars?decisions, decisions

Take a few minutes to do a search in this suspension forum for lots of info & various opinions....That will help you, i ended up putting poly in the front & moog rubber in the rear....check that summit quantity again-i'm sure that's for two bushings, not four....maybe

Every parts house has moog rubber parts. I assume you are not restoring a show car with GM numbers everywhere. I think general opinion is rubber for a street car and poly for anything else. Just don't get the "made in China" stuff.

Thanks czeto. No i am not worried about everything being absolutely correct.I guess you understand why i am apprehensive about everything because i dont want any junk.I think i will call ground up to verify their claim that their bushings are "GM".John
