As the buget for my Chevelle gets tighter and tighter, I have put the kabosh on some of my upgrades I wanted. One thing that will be difficult to upgrade after the car is together is the sound deadner products.

Where does most of the road noise/vibrations come from?
I will be appling a product to the floor that is designed to reflect heat. After that dries i will cover most of the floor with a sound/vibration specific product. I should have some extra dampner and i am wondering where is the next best place to put it? Doors, roof, quarter panels, wheel wheels etc?

Like I said I am on a budget, It will not be entered into any sound competitions. I would like to make it one step quieter from a road noise point of view. The exhaust will have electric cut outs so it will be quiet and it be enjoyable to drive when they are closed..

I put some on the door skins (inside edge of the outter skin), I put it over the wheel wells, roof, and on the floor pan from the dash to the trunk compartment. It made a HUGE difference, but I still get a lot from the trunk area coming through the trunk. I also used the Jewt insulation under the rear deck (speaker mount). I am hoping to get some carpet or "Rhino Lining" or both in my trunk to kill that sound.
