No wiring harness are installed yet but I want to fire up the engine (396).

I have an HEI Dist, Starter w/+ to Battery, plugs wires to dist, that's all.

Will this work?

1) Connect a Remote Starter to the "+" Batt post and the "S" connector on the Solenoid.
2) Connect a Toggle switch between the "+" Batt post and the "+" on the HEI (not sure where the "+" is)....

Does that sound like it will work to fire the engine up?

I now know why I didn't pursue a EE in college ;)...

Thanks, Duff.

all you need is B+ to coil on the hei...

a battery that is hooked to the starter.

ground cable from battery to the motor..

another wire to give B+ to starter solenoid to crank the motor

I think you said the same thing except I'm using a remote starter switch. Basically get + power to the starter solenoid and hei. Cool, thanks.....
