I am thinking about selling my 1970 Chevelle Convertible, the car is at the bodyshop and is close to paint. It had new full quarters put on but really did not need them ( long story ), all the sheetmetal is original to the car except for the quarters and the front fenders ( I went ahead and replaced them instead of patch panels ). The car is super solid and everything lines up great. The car is being jammed in Fatom Blue, I have already replaced the seat covers in Pearl. It has a newly rebuilt 454 ( not original to the car ) a newly rebuilt 400 Turbo ( original to the car ), 12 bolt posi, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Top, Power Disc Brakes, Air Condidtion ( worked before car was torn apart ), Rear Sway Bar, Bench Seat, Power Trunk Lock, Rear Trunk Light, Underhood Light, Rally gauges without tach, Rearview Mirror Light, SS wheels with new tires, new carpet, Power Steering, rechromed original bumpers, cowl hood with flapper ( hood has hood pins ), car has everything to complete except door panels, trunk weatherstrip, top weatherstrip ( original ones are ok ), front glass. All the door glass is very nice. I have a partial Buildsheet. All the stainless has been sent off to polish. I know that I am forgetting some things.
I know it veries about price due to no pics, I just dont know how to upload them. I am considering selling it because I might have a lead on a 69 Chevelle convertible and I like the 69 more than the 70.
Thanks

Was this car an LS-5 SS from the factory? Malibu 400? Or a small block vert? Was this a frame on resto or has it been off the frame? Original Fathom Blue car?

It is really tough to say with out pictures and without knowing if the car was an SS (and IF the original pieces are still there - you already said the motor is not original which is a huge hit if it truly is an SS) or if it is a clone/tribute/whatever you want to call it.

The car not being finished is going to mean taking a good sized hit on the price.

Without seeing the car, I would guess anywhere from a low of 15-18k on up depending on the overall quality.

It was originally red exterior with black top with black interior, it was not taken off the frame but was cleaned, all the body bushings are very nice and still good, I bought the car from a guy in Tenn and he had it for about 10 years and knew the car from the previous owner of another 12 years, and told me all that time it had a 454 in it, so not knowing for sure I am saying it is a small block car. The buildsheet is not that great

Went and looked at the 69 today, it is a very nice car, I have committed to buying it.
