I have a 72 Chevelle with power front disc and rear drum. I bled the master and all the lines to removed all air pockets. I'm confident that was done properly. My brake system is all new. I ran my vacuum line from the booster to the upper intake of my 502 Ram Air engine. I started her up for the first time the other day. The pedal is spongy and I was wondering if I'm getting enough vacuum. What is a good vacuum number I should be looking for?

12 to 14? I hear people talking about 18 and 20. Is there a maximum?

More is better but 12-14 will get you a good pedal

add to that... i can tell ya from personal experience, low vac. will not make the pedal spongy, it will be hard as a rock!

Is there such a thing as too much Vacuum? Other than air in the system, what else would make a pedal spongy?
