I am looking to buy some Moroso Drag springs for the front on my 70 Chevelle bbc. I wanted to cheat and see if anyone out there remembers how much they cut from their springs? And how much height they ended up with by measuring from 12 o clock on the wheel lip to the ground?
:beers:

I wouldn't cut anything off the Moroso trick springs. My past experience with them is they'll settle down...way down. :(

you almost have to install them 1st. i put the lightest ones on my race car and ended up cutting half a coil. mine didnt settle at all but i wouldnt say thats typical. what eng are you running and what other front mods have you done? i have a new set of the heaviest moroso springs for the 68 to 72 if that would fit you application

I cut one full coil off the trick springs I put it my big block '69 Camaro SS. It was great for a while. After about 6-7 months they sagged too much. I replaced them with full new ones and in about 6 months they were where the cut ones had been when they were installed. DON'T CUT THEM!

I havent done any major parts replacements, but I took out my A/C, put in a aluminum radiator. I have a 396 w/ aluminum heads. Let me know what u want for the springs. Thanx-Tom
P.S.- I'll check out the other springs u guys recommended.

i think mine would be to heavy for you. probably small block springs are what you need. the best way would be to weigh the front of the car and then the whole car. how much power the car makes, susp. type, front to rear wieght %, starting line gear ratio and convertor stall are some of the things that influence spring selection. from the moroso catalog i would start with the 250 lb springs.you will probably have to cut them but install them 1st to allow the springs to settle. if you cut them go less than you think you need to. you will probably have them out more than once
