When I drive the 68 Concours for a while say 10 miles i pull up to a stop as I get there it dies as I coast up to the stop I friend says the sock in the tank is clogged or in the way somehow but it's not dieing like its out of gas and as soon as it dies I crank it an she comes right back running like nothing is wrong
Ive another friend who says its a vapor lock I need something to keep the vacuum up in the manifold.
I got a 327 with the camel hump heads a lumpy cam (not sure which one) a torker manifold and a carter afb 650 carb
so with the combo of the cam and the manifold Im having problems keepin enough vacuum in the manifold anybody else have this trouble
thanks for the help

Does feel like the engine is forced to stop or what??
My first thought was either the idle speed is too low or the lock-up solenoid won't disengage. But then again I'm no expert http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

What happens if you push the pedal down when it starts doing this?? Or try putting it in neutral when it happens.

some times if I slap it up to neutral I can try to catch it before it dies but it just wants to die like it lost the spark. then i reach for the key turn it over it starts right up http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif
useully when its hot is when this most offend accures

paineles, there is the possibility that the idle fuel resrictions which supply the fuel to the idle circuit and the transfer circuit (off idle) are just a bit lean for your camshaft's idle vacuum level. A closed throttle deceleration situation depletes the available fuel in the idle circuit and can cause this problem on AFB's. Consult an AFB manual for the location of the small tubes at the bottom of which you will find the restictions in the form of a small crimped end at the bottom of the tubes. Measure the current size. You will probably find something around .030" or .032" diameter holes. Increase these by .002" and re-test. Don't go beyond .036". Increasing your idle speed in gear to 700 rpm can also help to keep the idle circuits flowing a bit more and may help some.

well guess what the problem is.......
you'll never believe it......
Turns out the ignition switch doesn't like alot of wieght hangin from the key. That weight would pull the lock to off causin the car to die the thing which got it back to running was to turn the switch I think I mentioned that an it never clicked
dohh http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif
now if I can solve the other problems
after I replace the switch havnt done that guess Ill replace the radio too since their next to each other.
http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gifIts so cool I found the problem thats only thing keepin me from enjoying the car.
